Insurance broker and consultant NFP has acquired US-based Pieper-Ramsdell Agency (PRA), for an undisclosed sum.

Based in St. Helens of Oregon, PRA provides property & casualty (P&C) insurance solutions for businesses and individuals.

The agency specifically focuses on the commercial trucking industry.

NFP Property & Casualty CEO Terrence Scali said: "We continue to actively enhance our service offerings and expand our national reach.

"NFP sees tremendous opportunity within the Northwest region and views PRA as a key partner in achieving new growth."

PRA principals Ron Schlumpberger and Joseph Schultz will join as vice presidents in NFP Property & Casualty, and report to its senior vice-president Ed Kurowski.

Schlumpberger and Schultz said: "NFP is making a real impact in the P&C industry as they continue to grow their national footprint, solutions and support services."

In December 2015, NFP acquired a P&C insurance agency, Vanorsdale Insurance Services, which provides commercial and personal P&C coverage and employee benefits services to the customers in the San Diego and Los Angeles regions.

NFP offers employee benefits, P&C, retirement, and individual insurance and wealth management solutions to its customers.
