New York Life Insurance Company has promoted Michael Secolo as its senior vice president and chief technology officer, who will report to senior vice president and chief information officer Sue Ericksen.

In his current role, Secolo will manage development of the company’s technical strategy, research and innovation.

He joined the company in 2010 as vice president of architecture and later accepted additional responsibility for the management of IT architecture and engineering in 2011.

Prior to this, he worked with Automatic Data Processing (ADP) in key positions including vice president of IT engineering, vice president of Internet and network services, and vice president and chief information security officer.

Secolo was accountable for designing and implementing infrastructures for ADP’s Web hosting and Software as a Service (SaaS) initiative.

Before ADP, he held higher roles at Sea-Land Service,Salomon Brothers, and RAV Communications.
