New York Life has appointed Joanne Rodgers as Chief Diversity Officer, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of New York Life’s diversity programme.

Most recently, Rodgers served at New York Life as a Vice President, and was responsible for identifying and advancing key themes of strategic importance, managing the corporate business planning cycle, and leading a variety of strategic initiatives.

Rodgers held various capacities which also involved strategic planning to increase the company’s presence in the women’s and Hispanic markets and also served National Association of Securities Dealers and Shearson Lehman Brothers prior to joining New York Life in 1994.

In her new role, Rodger’s responsibility will include development and execution of the company’s diversity strategy as well as coordination of diversity activities and events with a particular emphasis on talent recruitment.

Additional responsibilities include development and retention and internal and external communications on diversity.

Joanne will also oversee the Women’s Leadership Programme (WLP) and six additional employee resource groups and will report first Vice President and Chief Talent Officer Hy Pomerance.

Rodgers will work closely with New York Life’s department managers and employee resource groups for the diversity initiatives to be aligned with business strategies and goals.
