Nationwide Mutual Insurance, a provider of insurance and financial services, has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as its new claims handling system for property/casualty business. Deployment will begin with Nationwide's commercial and personal auto lines.

According to the Guidewire, the ClaimCenter solution is an end-to-end claims management system, designed to meet the specific needs of current property/casualty insurers.

The rules of the solution will enable claims organizations to define, enforce, and continually refine their preferred claim handling practices to optimize and monitor their claim processes.

With ClaimCenter solution Nationwide is expected to benefit from enhanced claims handling capabilities, better visibility into claims handling operations as well as designed user-friendly claims system and flexibility and upgradeability to keep pace with changing needs.

Guidewire PartnerConnect alliance member Ernst and Young will be the system integration lead on this project and will work closely with Nationwide on the project’s implementation.

Nationwide executive vice president and chief information officer Michael Keller said that ClaimCenter is easy to configure, which will give us the flexibility to make system changes in-house so that we can respond rapidly as our business evolves.

Guidewire Software CEO Marcus Ryu said that Nationwide has seen in ClaimCenter a system on which they can transform their claims business today, while building a foundation on which to build their business going forward.
