Montpelier Re Holdings (Montpelier), a provider of short-tail reinsurance and other specialty lines has appointed John Dalton as president of Montpelier Underwriting unit, effective immediately.
Dalton will report to Montpelier Syndicate 5151 chief underwriting officer Richard Chattock.
Having joined Montpelier in 2008, Dalton has been overseeing the development and operation of MUI’s excess of loss property facultative business.
With more than three decades of experience in underwriting and managing industry, Dalton also served Swiss Reinsurance America and was responsible for brokered property facultative business for North and South America.
The company provides global property and casualty reinsurance and insurance products through its operating subsidiaries.
