Modus and Device Cloud Networks (DCN) have formed a new partnership to bring Modus' innovative suite of insurance telematics solutions to insurance providers and their customers in the EU and UK.

Both Modus and DCN have their technologies on display at the Mobile World Conference, being held in Barcelona. Conference attendees can visit Modus and DCN in Hall 2, meeting room A2MR.

Insurance telematics is changing the dynamics of the automobile insurance marketplace by enabling insurers, businesses and consumers alike to access and manage actual usage data emanating from cars, busses and trucks.

The result is the potential to improve driver safety while providing real-time feedback to fleet managers, insurers and family on key driver and automobile metrics like speed and braking.

"Connectivity and functionality are paramount to expanding insurance telematics to global markets and DCN delivers those solutions exceptionally well," said Brandon Johnson, CEO of Modus. "With the ability to deliver global connectivity on demand, fully automated service provisioning and connectivity management and APIs that make it easy to quickly develop and deploy new applications, DCN provides a strong and rapidly evolving backbone on which to deploy our solutions."

Fully deployed insurance telematics solutions, such as those being implemented by Modus in the United States and elsewhere, require a vast array of device, network and data management distributed across large geographies. The Modus and DCN partnership promises to replicate this success across Europe and the United Kingdom through the combination of device management and cloud-based solutions.

"Our approach is unique in the M2M marketplace," explains Dave Williams, chief executive officer, DCN. "Through our partners and our simplified connectivity process and comprehensive platform, we can bring device connectivity to virtually any market in the world, enabling solutions like Modus’ insurance telematics platform to go places never before possible."
