Minneapolis-based MMIC will further invest in its health information technology division to provide technical solutions and manage cyber risk and has appointed John Woodward as sales vice president and Lynn Welch as senior communications consultant to assist Health IT division.

Woodward has experience in professional sales, marketing and management and served as COO and president of Indigo Identityware and also served as founding executive of cMore Medical Solutions prior to joining MMIC.

In their new roles, Woodward will look over the health care clinical software and health information technology while Lynn Welch will provide full time marketing, advertising and communications support to the Health IT team.

Prior to the MMIC joining, Welch served as medical and wellness communications in UnitedHealth Group, Blue Cross, Definity Health, Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement, and Cigna.

Health IT division also offers consulting services which include strategic IT, meaningful use, HIPAA and EHR data exchange consulting as well as technical services, including network, managed IT and remote backup services.Currently, it provides NextGen electronic health record and complementary products.

Development services are also provided by the Health IT division including Web site development, search engine optimisation and custom reporting for quality initiatives.
