Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC), a subsidiary of insurance broker Marsh, has named Julio Portalatin as its president and CEO of Mercer, the company’s human resource consulting subsidiary.
Prior to appointment with Mercer, Portalatin served as the president and CEO of Chartis Growth Economies, and senior vice president for American International Group (AIG).
Portalatin was also the American International Underwriters (AIU) Worldwide Accident & Health Division president and worked for executive product underwriting, distribution and marketing positions in Allstate Insurance Company.
Based in New York, Portalatin will report to Marsh & McLennan Companies Group president and COO Dan Glaser.
Glaser said Julio posses a strong international background and extensive experience in the strategic leadership and operation of complex global businesses to lead Mercer forward.
