MetLife Auto & Home, a personal lines property and casualty insurance company, has received approval from the division of insurance to offer a deductible savings benefit to its Massachusetts customers.

This benefit will be provided at no additional cost to all new and existing automobile, motorcycle and motor home policies, as of September 15, 2008, said MetLife Auto & Home.

Under the benefit, customers can earn a $50 credit toward their comprehensive or collision deductible at each 12-month anniversary if no claim payment was made within the year, up to a maximum accrued credit of $250.

Existing customers who already have a policy with MetLife Auto & Home will immediately be able to take advantage of deductible savings benefit (DSB), and will receive their first $50 credit effective upon their policy renewal after October 20, 2008, provided that they were loss-free for the previous 12-month period, added MetLife Auto & Home.

Bill Moore, president of MetLife Auto & Home, said: The DBS is a great way to reward good drivers and will also help to eliminate some of the out-of-pocket expenses that most customers face in the event that the unexpected occurs.
