MediCall, a healthcare services provider, has filed its Utilization Review Plan with the California Division of Workers' Compensation.

The filing coincides with MediCall going into production with its California Utilization Review (UR) program. The program is designed with the goal of facilitating a cost effective provision of quality healthcare for injured workers in California.

The MediCall plan was designed in accordance with California regulatory requirements and URAC WCUM (Workers’ Compensation Utilization Management) standards. The MediCall UR program supports a wide range of reviews which are prospective, concurrent, retrospective and appeals. First level reviews will be handled by MediCall’s BSN prepared registered nurse team, with second level reviews being managed by MediCall’s URAC accredited peer review partner.

John Chess, CEO of MediCall, said: We are pleased to announce the filing of our plan with the California DWC and are excited to offer our services to California’s injured workers. MediCall’s UR program has been designed to meet the high quality and stringent accreditation standards outlined by URAC while also ensuring that we are compliant with California’s specific requirements.
