US-based Meadowbrook Insurance Group has purchased Michigan-based program and claims administrator Mackinaw Administrators.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Meadowbrook Insurance Group president and CEO Robert Cubbin said: "This is a compelling transaction that will enable Meadowbrook to expand our fee-based product offerings and services and further diversify our revenue base.

Established in 1995, Mackinaw offers tailored insurance and risk management programs and other related services for both group and individual clients.

With offices in Michigan and Ohio, the firm provides services to various lines of business including, workers compensation, general liability, medical professional liability and liquor liability.

As part of the deal, Mackinaw will run as an independent subsidiary with its current management team, including Mackinaw president Stephen Flechsig, under Meadowbrook.

Meadowbrook Insurance offers specialty risk management solutions for agents, professional and trade associations, and small to medium-sized insureds.
