Joel Almeida joined as director, sales and business development
MassMutual has expanded its sales team under the leadership of Hugh O’Toole, with the creation of a new sales role on the West Coast. Mr. O’Toole is senior vice president of sales and client management for MassMutual’s Retirement Services Division.
Joel Almeida has joined MassMutual effective August 31, as director of sales and business development. In this newly-created position, Mr. Almeida will partner with managing director, Francesca Messano to provide additional support to third-party distribution relationships and MassMutual career agents in the southern California and Hawaii territory.
Most recently, Mr. Almeida served as director of business development, Principal Financial Group. Prior to that, he served as managing director for FMC Financial Group, a MassMutual affiliate. He reports to Tanya Jones, Western divisional sales manager, MassMutual Retirement Services Division.
Mr. O’Toole said: “MassMutual is experiencing strong growth on the West Coast. We look forward to continuing the great momentum that Francesca Messano has established in the retirement services market there with another top industry professional like Joel.”
Ms. Jones said: Joel has achieved outstanding success in helping advisors on the West Coast grow their retirement plan business. He will be of tremendous value to all of our distribution channel relationships in southern California and Hawaii.
