Stuart Reese will step down as CEO and assume the role of non-executive Chairman of the Board
Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance’ (MassMutual) Board of Directors has appointed Roger Crandall as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2010. Current CEO, Stuart Reese will step down from that position and assume the role of non-executive Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Crandall has served as President and COO of MassMutual since December 2008. He will remain President of the company when he assumes the Chief Executive position. Since joining MassMutual, he has held several positions in the firm, as Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of Babson Capital. He was named President and CEO of Babson Capital Management in March 2006.
Mr. Reese previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at MassMutual, and was responsible for management of the company’ general account and served as a key advisor on business strategy. Besides acting as Chairman and CEO of Babson Capital Management, he was also Chairman of Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers.
