Marsh, a global insurance broker and risk advisor, has appointed Peter Mavraganis as US leader of its Renewable Energy Practice.

In this role, Mavraganis will oversee Marsh’s support for its clients in renewable energy development, including solar, wind, biomass, and biofuel energy projects.

Mavraganis is based in Marsh’s New York office and will report to McGarvey, chairman of Marsh US Power and Utility Practice.

Mavraganis will join Marsh with over 35 years of experience in energy, power, utilities, and environmental risk management and insurance to the role.

He will succeed Mark Fishbaugh, who will now lead Marsh efforts in support of clients involved in the construction of new US nuclear facilities. Fishbaugh will also remain a key member of Marsh’s Renewable Energy team.

Dan McGarvey said Mavraganis’ broad expertise in the environmental, energy, and utilities marketplaces will ensure Marsh continues to deliver superior brokerage and risk advisory services to the renewable energy clients.
