Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) has acquired California-based property/casualty agency NuWest Insurance Services, which is expected to boost MMA's capabilities in the West region.

Established in 1985, NuWest provides property/casualty insurance solutions for multi-employer trust funds and employee unions.

NuWest Insurance Services chairman and CEO Chuck Rosenberger said: "Joining MMA is an excellent opportunity for NuWest to build on its success over the last 29 years.

"As part of MMA, our clients will now have access to a wider range of products and services to address their emerging and evolving needs."

The acquired business will be included in the MMA’s existing Orange County office, Barney & Barney.

NuWest is said to generate around $2.4m revenue per annum, noted MMA.

Marsh & McLennan Agency chairman and CEO David Eslick said: "NuWest is a welcome addition to MMA and the start of what we anticipate will be further expansion of our capabilities and resources in the West region."

Part of Marsh, MMA was founded in 2008. It provides commercial property, casualty, personal lines, and employee benefits to customers in the US.
