New office expands Lockton's energy and reinsurance capabilities in the South American region

Lockton, an insurance broker, has opened its new office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for commercial and reinsurance clients. The new office expands Lockton’s energy and reinsurance capabilities in the South American region.

Lockton has recruited a four-person team to operate the Rio office. The Board of Trade approved the new Lockton operation on August 12.

Paula Malafaia, with 15 years of experience in the insurance market, joins Lockton, from Colemont, to serve as the office’s retail executive. She has previously held leadership positions with Miller do Brasil and JLT.

Antonio de Novaes Neto has been appointed as the director for Lockton Re in Rio de Janiero. Mr. Novaes will contribute expertise to the office’s reinsurance operations. He has worked in leadership roles with Bradesco Seguros Group, reinsurance broker, CatalystRe and with Brazil’s state-owned reinsurer, IRB.
