Privately held insurance broker Lockton is planning to open an insurance brokerage office in Boston to expand its commercial insurance operations in the Northeast US.

The new office will be located temporarily at 60 State Street, 7th Floor, in Boston and will move to permanent location in downtown Boston in late summer of 2013.

The company, which currently has operations in New York, Philadelphia and Hartford, has appointed Chip Manozzi and Eva Durkin as senior vice presidents in Boston.

Lockton Northeast US operations COO Tim Ryan said, "Opening our office here puts us in a better position to serve our clients.
"We look forward to growing our business in New England and continuing to expand our capabilities and resources in Boston."

Manozzi, who has been an insurance advisor and broker for more than 30 years, will be responsible for business development and client strategy.

Durkin has experience in managing risk management and property-casualty insurance programs for companies and will be responsible for client relations, carrier negotiations, and insurance program management.

Lockton Northeast US operations chairman Michael Calabrese said, "This expansion by Lockton Northeast into Boston furthers our goal of providing a significant global insurance advisory alternative to middle market and multinational companies seeking insurance and employee benefits solutions."
