Lincoln Financial has appointed Mitchell Avnet as new head of enterprise compliance & ethics and Peter Feeley as head of business law and compliance, effective 14 March 2011.
Avnet and Feeley will report to Lincoln Financial general counsel Nicole Jones.
In his new role, Avnet will work with the senior-most executives and be responsible for enterprise-wide compliance, ensuring that the company complies with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Avnet has 18 years of experience in risk management and will join Lincoln from PNC Financial Services, where he most recently served as chief compliance officer of broker dealer and asset management group oversight programs.
Similarly, Feeley in his new role will oversee and coordinate the legal aspects of major strategic issues/initiatives across the lines of business and will be key member of the Lincoln legal team.
Feeley will join Lincoln Financial from Prudential Insurance Company of America, where he most recently served as chief operations officer / VP, compliance for law, compliance and business ethics department.
During Feeley’s 21 years with Prudential, he held positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to insurance industry, he was an attorney in private practice.
