LifeRe Insurance, which received approval from the Texas Department of Insurance to merge into Ameritas Life Insurance in June 2007, has completed the final transition of systems and policies to Ameritas.
The sale of LifeRe Insurance to Ameritas Life Insurance in July 2007 was prompted by the retirement of LifeRe chairman of the board and CEO Richard Galland. It has allowed Ameritas’ group division to operate a new sales and service center in San Antonio, Texas.
Ken VanCleave, president of Ameritas Group, said: Both companies have spent the last 16 months converting systems, rewriting LifeRe dental and eye care plans to Ameritas, training associates and building relationships. Everyone involved worked hard to make sure this transition happened as seamlessly as possible for LifeRe’s brokers, policyholders and members.
