Liberty Mutual, an insurance company, has announced that it has enhanced its general liability offering to mid-market businesses in order to account for key coverage gaps in the industry.

Liberty Mutual is also expanding general liability coverage for 10 specific industry segments in the middle market. All middle market general liability customers will now get 11 automatic coverages that address common gaps, including unintentional failure to disclose, mental anguish included in bodily injury, coverage for health care professionals as insureds, and coverage for injuries to co-employees as a result of Good Samaritan acts. Additionally, Liberty Mutual has enhanced its general liability coverage for Liberty Direct Solutions, its property and casualty products designed for select industries.

Tom Rudder, executive vice president with commercial markets division of Liberty Mutual, said: As the needs of our customers evolve, it’s important that our offerings keep pace. By keeping current on case law and routinely analyzing industry coverages on behalf of our customers, we’ve identified exposures and common gaps that are addressed with these enhancements.
