Liberty Insurance Company Limited (LICL), a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Group, has commenced operations at its new branch in Guangdong, southern China, following an approval from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).
The new branch is the company’s fourth operating unit in China along with the three others at the Chongqing in western China, Beijing in northern China, and Zhejiang in eastern China.
Liberty Mutual said that it had issued its first insurance policy on 2 December 2011.
The Liberty Mutual focuses on the customer’s personal lines and small-to-medium enterprises segments for serving Guangdong’s almost 100 million consumers and its commercial and industrial organizations.
The company had around 93,000 auto policyholders in these markets as of October 2011.
