Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), a specialty lines division of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has appointed Daniel Westbury as vice president, West Coast regional manager for Marine.
Based in LIU’s San Francisco office, Westbury will oversee LIU Marine’s Seattle operations to enhance the company’s Marine capabilities in the US.
Westbury has spent more than 20 years in the insurance industry working on both the broker and carrier sides of the business.
LIU senior vice president Don Harrel said that Daniel’s 20 years experience in insurance industry will help agents and brokers, in resolving complex risks in clients issues.
Westbury said that LIU’s reputation as a market leader in capacity offered, coupled with superior risk management and claims handling working together as one integrated unit, was a strong selling point for me.
"As we seek opportunities to bring LIU marine products to a wider audience one area of focus will be automated platforms, such as LIUCargo.com, where agents and brokers can enter an application, obtain quotes, bind coverage, issue certificates, submit applications, and report shipments all online," added Westbury.
