Business process applications developer Kofax has said that a US insurance company has invested $725,000 in its products to expedite disaster claims of customers affected by catastrophes.

The unidentified insurer will implement Kofax Communications Server, Kofax VRS Elite and Kofax Professional Services to handle millions of documents related to claims during catastrophes such as major storms, massive fires or earthquakes.

Kofax Communication Server enables automated exchange of information through fax and phone systems, email, FoIP, SMS, MMS, voicemail and telex.

Image enhancement and perfection software, Kofax VRS Elite is used for preparation of manual documents and enhancement of the quality of scanned images. Kofax Professional Services is a customer service.

Kofax executive vice president of field operations Howard Dratler said the insurance company wanted to prepare for potential scenarios that could push the limits of their processing capabilities.

"They chose Kofax because it delivers high-volume document capture and processing solutions that are robust and reliable across the enterprise, efficient and extremely cost effective," he added.
