Kiln, an international insurance and reinsurance underwriting group and a member of Tokio Marine Group, has appointed Christian as accident and health underwriter in Frankfurt.

In his new role, Christian will focus on underwriting a broad range of specialist and bespoke risks for the German market, which include war and terrorism cover for security and logistical support personnel and those on humanitarian projects; ships’ crews and pilots; professional sports; entertainment; evacuation and repatriation globally.

Kiln has operated in Europe since 2006 and opened an office in Frankfurt, Germany, last year.

The newly created role establishes Kiln’s presence within the European specialist accident and health insurance market for the first time.

Klin said, Christian will work across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Kiln in Europe regional managing director Olivier Terlinden said the move is a further demonstration of Kiln’s growth strategy, which involves expanding its distribution network and broadening its specialist product portfolio.
