The Kentucky Department of Insurance is liable to regulate all types of insurance sold in the state of Kentucky, including health insurance schemes

The Kentucky Department of Insurance is evaluating the functioning of a nonprofit group, which offers insurance for most of the state’s counties – reported in Insurance Journal.

Three KACo officials and a lawyer met for more than an hour with regulators, including Insurance Commissioner Sharon Clark. Department of Insurance spokeswoman, Ronda Sloan declined to describe what was discussed, but said that there is not a formal investigation.

Brent Caldwell, Lexington lawyer, expressed that insurance regulators asked about operational issues, how the programs run and how they operate.

Currently, 112 of Kentucky’s 120 counties use the liability insurance provided by the county association.
