JMB Insurance, a Chicago-based insurance brokerage firm, has appointed Matthew Horwitch as a member of its executive committee and co-CEO, side-by-side with Ken Sacks.

As co-CEOs, Horwitch and Sacks will lead the initiatives throughout JMB’s full range of insurance brokerage and consulting products and services.

Horwitch has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He founded his own agency in 1988, which was acquired by Aon in 1999. Following the acquisition, he served as Aon’s managing director for the Upper Midwest Region. He moved to Lockton Companies in 2002 as executive vice president. In 2006, he returned to Aon as president of its global account segment.

David Macknin and Bruce Schlesinger, executive vice presidents, along with Barry Gersowsky, chief operating officer, will partner with Sacks and Horwitch as members of the JMBI executive committee.

JMB Insurance co-CEO Ken Sacks said that at JMB, they have the scope, size and financial strength to meet the insurance needs of businesses ranging from large clients to the newest startup.
