London-based insurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group has established JLT Holdings Japan to better respond to the risk management needs of Japanese companies expanding overseas.

Under the new holding company structure, insurance agency operations will be conducted by JLT Risk Services Japan (formerly Jardine Lloyd Thompson), while JLT Japan (formerly JLT Re Japan) will conduct the insurance and reinsurance broking businesses.

JLT Group said that the goals of the new structure are to ensure greater responsiveness to client needs as well as to facilitate the independent operations of each business unit.

Under the new structure, JLT Risk Services Japan will draw on 26 years of experience to provide risk management advice and insurance agency services, while JLT Japan provides insurance broking solutions on domestic and overseas insurance programs, and reinsurance broking services as well as harness the JLT Group’s strengths in overseas markets to serve Japanese companies abroad.

In addition to local, regional and global insurance programs, the JLT Group also offers capabilities in the fields of construction, power, infrastructure, manufacturing, real estate and aviation.

JLT Holdings Japan will draw on the Group’s comprehensive capabilities in providing risk management services, leveraging the JLT Group’s network across 130 countries, to deliver seamless and attentive insurance services and expert advice.
