Insurance services provider Jacobson, Goldfarb & Scott (JGS Insurance Agency) has launched its full-service employee benefits and human resources (HR) consulting department.

Barry Fields has been named as vice president of the department. Fields will be responsible for enhancing the department that provides consulting services.

Earlier, Fields served as sales director for Health Net of the Northeast, and as practice leader for Consultants for Corporate Benefits. Most recently, Fields was the founder of Global Benefit Strategies.

Fields and his team have developed a suite of services to meet the needs of mid to large size firms, after identifying areas of support that were not provided by brokers and consultants.

Commenting on creating solutions for the mid-sized marketplace, "Companies with greater than 50 employees face unprecedented changes and challenges, with often times very little strategic and proactive guidance," Fields said.

JGS Insurance president Vincent Hager said there is confusion in the marketplace about the Affordable Care Act and the challenges of managing a benefits program.

"We are allocating our resources to allow Barry to follow through with our vision by offering full-service consulting to the mid-sized marketplace," Hager added.
