US-based insurance broker Hylant Group has appointed Michael Gilbert as president of its Indianapolis office.
As a president, Gilbert will be responsible for the overall management, direction and growth of the office.
Before joining Hylant, he served as executive senior vice president of First Merchants Insurance, where he was responsible for negotiating multiple agency acquisitions, in which he designed and implemented plans for culture integration.
Previously, Gilbert was president of the Kiwanis Club and serves on the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce and the YMCA.
Hylant is a full-service insurance brokerage with 12 offices in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee, and employs more than 600 employees.
