ING US, a part of Dutch insurer ING, has launched the Compass Hospital Confinement Indemnity Insurance offering that helps employees and their families to reduce hospital expenses.

The new offering, which provides fixed payments when an individual is hospitalised, is designed like group benefit options rather than traditional voluntary products.

ING said that Compass Hospital Confinement Indemnity Insurance helps individuals to pay for costs related to hospital stay, including co-pays, coinsurance and deductibles, meals, parking for visiting family members, lost time from work, mortgage and utility payments.

With basic coverage, including hospital, critical care unit and rehabilitation facility stays, individuals can continue the coverage, in the event of a job change, divorce or employee death as it is portable across the US states.

The new offering also includes a wellness benefit, a critical illness rider and an accident rider.
