Dutch financial services provider ING Group has appointed Greg Mateja as new head of Risk Integration for ING US.

Based in Connecticut, Mateja will be responsible for leading the integrated analysis of the company’s risks, including asset-liability management, economic capital, risk appetite and strategic risk management.

He will report to Prakash Shimpi, chief risk officer at ING US.

Mateja will joins ING from Hartford Financial Services Group, where he most recently served as vice president, strategic initiatives.

Mateja has approximately 30 years of financial services industry experience, having held a various executive positions in his 17-year career at Hartford Financial Services Group.

Shimpi said Greg is an exceptional financial services executive who has a successful track record of leading complex projects related to acquisitions, risk management and capital structuring.

"Couple his risk experience with product knowledge spanning life insurance and retirement plans, Greg will be a great asset to ING, providing thoughtful analysis in measuring and managing product and business risks," Shimpi said.
