Health insurer Independence Blue Cross (IBC) has expanded its relationship with Inovalon (the new name of MedAssurant).
Under the expanded partnership, the health insurer will implement Inovalon’s Star Advantage and INDICES solutions to improve its CMS five-star quality rating.
Star Advantage uses healthcare quality measurement system, large-scale healthcare dataset analytics, and a clinical operations infrastructure designed to offer updated insight into clinical quality outcomes and gap closure capabilities.
INDICES Reporting and Business Intelligence platform uses OLAP cube technology and pre-calculated analytics to allow healthcare organizations near-real-time insight into member, provider, and clinical facility care, utilization, quality, disease, demographic, risk score and financial trends and performance.
Earlier in 2012, IBC has deployed Inovalon’s Prospective Advantage solution to identify and address potential gaps in care and strengthen care coordination for its Medicare Advantage members.
