Insurance brokerage firm Hub International has acquired the assets of Florida Federal Insurance Company (FFIC), a personal and commercial insurance brokerage firm.

As part of the transaction, the Florida-based FFIC operations will become a part of Hub International Northeast.

The owner and founder of FFIC Makram Kamel will transition his accounts to Hub and work with the firm as a referral source of new business opportunities.

The team at the FFIC will continue to maintain a presence at its current location in Florida, while its customer service will be integrated into Hub’s existing office in Plantation, Florida.

Established in 2006, FFIC focuses on personal lines insurance, primarily homeowners’ and automobile insurance, for customers throughout the South Florida region. In addition, it arranges commercial insurance programs.

HUB Southeast region vice president Thomas Schuh said that the addition of FFIC team is in line with the company’s efforts to further expand the presence in the Southeastern US.
