A twenty-five-year insurance industry veteran, David Hobbs has been named president and chief operating officer of The Hilb Group (THG), LLC effective Oct. 1, 2015. As president and COO, Hobbs is responsible for business operations across THG’s 37 office locations nationwide. Hobbs will report directly to CEO, Robert Hilb.

Hobbs began working with Hilb Rogal & Hobbs Co. (HRH) in 1992 as a sales representative. Hobbs became president of the Alabama region in 1999, where he was head of operations for one of the largest offices in the HRH system until it was acquired by the Willis Group in 2008.

In 2009, Hobbs joined McGriff, Seibels & Williams, a regional insurance brokerage firm owned by BB&T and part of the fifth largest insurance brokerage firms in the United States. He was named president of the firm’s Alabama operations in 2013. Hobbs is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College.

Hilb and Hobbs began their careers at HRH in 1992. Since then, they have worked closely together in various roles. Hobbs was an original shareholder of THG when the company launched in 2009.
