HealthMarkets, a provider of health and life insurance products, has announced that David Fields has joined the company as executive vice president and COO.
In his new position, Mr Fields will be responsible for all operations of HealthMarkets and its operating units. Prior to joining HealthMarkets, Mr Fields was CEO of UniCare Life and Health Insurance Company, a subsidiary of WellPoint. Prior to joining UniCare, Mr Fields was vice president and general manager of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor of science in commerce-accounting.
