HCC Insurance Holdings has appointed Frank Ahlborn as vice president and treasurer of the company. Mr Ahlborn has more than 15 years of experience in insurance product analysis and development, reinsurance funding solutions, fixed income structuring and capital raising. In his new role, he will report to Tobin Whamond, EVP and chief financial officer of HCC.

Mr Ahlborn started his career with MetLife in the actuarial development program, and has worked for Aegon, Salomon Smith Barney and Wachovia.
