The Hartford Financial Services Group has promoted Melinda Thompson as the new vice president and managing director of its southeast division's property & casualty operations, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, US.
In this new position, Ms Thompson will be responsible for the underwriting function in the Charlotte office which supports the company’s southeast regional offices.
Ms Thompson initially joined The Hartford as a commercial lines intern in the Brea, California office. After graduating from college in 1998, she joined the company full time as a middle market underwriter in the same office. She spent the next several years in roles of increasing responsibility in both the southern and northern California regional offices, serving as a middle market sales manager and a personal lines sales manager. In 2006, she was named division sales director for The Hartford’s western division.
