Expected to offer cover for more than one relative

The Hanover Insurance Group (Hanover) has introduced a new product, Assisted living care coverage, that can extend homeowners coverage to provide insurance for family members in assisted living facilities.

According to the company, Assisted living care coverage can be added to new and existing Connections Home policies. The coverage features are expected to offer cover for more than one relative and personal property protection of up to $10,000, personal liability coverage limits of $100,000 to $300,000, in addition to living expenses coverage of $500 to $6,000 per month.

Marita Zuraitis, president of property and casualty at Hanover, said: The investments and enhancements we plan to make in our personal lines business this year are further indications of our excellent financial position and our steadfast commitment to being the best partner for independent agents. Now, those are great reasons to ‘Think Hanover’.”

The company has stated that the launch of assisted living coverage is likely to kicks-off its Think Hanover program, a series of product, service and technology investments that Hanover is expected to make in its personal lines business in 2009.

Hanover is the holding company for a group of insurers that includes, The Hanover Insurance Company, and Citizens Insurance Company of America and their affiliates, a regional property and casualty insurer.
