Hannover Life Reassurance has appointed Cliff Titcomb as vice president and chief medical director, who will form an integral part of the firm's senior risk management team.

Hannover Life senior vice president and chief underwriter Kevin Oldani said: "In his role as Vice President, Chief Medical Director, Cliff will support the continued development of our ASCENT manual, support the review of facultative cases, and research into medical topics to share with the industry."

With 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Titcomb held service as vice president and secretary for International Medical Risk Consultants and served as consultant to both insurance and non-insurance industry clients, most recently.

Previously, Cliff served ING RE as chief medical officer as well as Morbidity and Mortality Liaison Committee (MMLC) as chairman.

Titcomb was also a member of the Board of Insurance Medicine, a member of the board of directors of MIB and served American Academy of Insurance Medicine (AAIM) as programme chairman.
