Guy Carpenter & Company (Guy Carpenter) has appointed Richard Booth as Vice Chairman, effective July 7, 2009. He will report to Peter Saffino, President and CEO of the company, besides joining the company’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Booth would contribute to set the overall strategic direction of the company and will provide advice on improving operational performance. In addition, his focus will be on developing key client relationships.
Previously, Mr. Booth served as Vice Chairman of Transition Planning and CAO at AIG, and Chairman of Hartford Steamboiler. He served as President and CEO of HSB from 2000 to 2007. Prior to joining HSB, he spent 30 years in various senior positions, including President, COO, and Director of the Travellers Corporation, and Executive Vice President and Director of The Phoenix Companies.
