Guardian Life Insurance Company of America is planning to hire more than 800 financial representatives throughout 2012 as part of its distribution force recruitment strategy.

The insurer recognizes that these individuals possess the skills needed to prosper in the challenging life insurance field.

Guardian Life chief distribution officer Meg Skinner said that unlike employers with a more traditional view of the job market, they welcome career changers and experienced professionals who may have recently experienced a downsizing or who are working in unfulfilling jobs where their skills are undervalued.

New York-based Guardian Life has 5,000 employees in the US and a network of over 3,000 financial representatives in more than 80 agencies nationwide.

The company and its subsidiaries provides life insurance, disability income insurance, dental insurance products, and offers funding vehicles for 401(k) plans, annuities and other financial products.
