The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian) has named Nancy Cooper to the company’s Board of Directors in a bid to contribute to its continuing efforts to invest in systems that meet the requirements of its key constituents, including policyholders and financial representatives.

Currently, Cooper is also serving as a board director of Teradata and The Mosaic Company, and is a Trustee of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology.

In 2011, Cooper retired from CA Technologies, a global software provider where she was serving the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer.

With more than 30 years of experience, Cooper also held additional senior financial leadership roles with several private and public companies, including IMS Health, Reciprocal, Pitney Bowes Credit Corporation and IBM.

Guardian Board of Directors lead director Donald Waite said Nancy’s strong financial management background will help support the company’s core mission of remaining financially strong.

Founded in 1860, the mutual insurer and its subsidiaries offer life insurance, disability income insurance, dental insurance products, and offer funding vehicles for 401(k) plans, annuities and other financial products.

The company has approximately 5,000 employees in the US and a network of more than 3,000 financial representatives in over 80 agencies nationwide.
