Guard Insurance Group has named Sy Foguel, currently the CEO of the company, as its new president, and Carl Witkowski, the former chief administrative officer of the company, as its new COO.
Mr Foguel’s and Mr Witkowski’s new roles were formerly held by Susan Shoval, co-founder of Guard, who has retired from the company along with her husband and co-founder Judd Shoval. Both will remain as board members, said the company.
Mr Foguel, former executive vice president of international financial conglomerate Clal Insurance, has held the position of CEO since Guard’s 2007 merger with Clal.
Mr Witkowski will be directly responsible for information technology, human resources, legal operations, managed care, claims, customer service, and underwriting for all but small business accounts.
Mr Witkowski will also be responsible to ensure that the company has infrastructure and processes needed to support planned enhancement while achieving optimum effectiveness.
