Insurance services provider Grupo Zurich Mexico is planning to deploy a new private cloud infrastructure, which will be based on IBM PureSystems and SmartCloud to improve performance and reduce operating costs.

Apart from improving the company’s insurance claims payment, the new cloud will also increase its website availability to improve customer care.

The IBM PureSystems infrastructure will provide the backbone for Zurich Infrastructure as a Service (Ziaas) project.

This project will help Zurich to simplify the operation of enterprise applications and share a common data platform, while providing a consistent look-and-feel for end users.

Zurich Mexico infrastructure manager Joshua Bernal said that the new private cloud allows the company to efficiently manage the company’s larger databases and storage systems.

Zurich Mexico has been able to reduce data centers cost of up to 54% since the deployment of PureFlex.
