Great American Insurance Group, a property and casualty underwriter has rolled out its enhanced professional liability coverage for human and social service organizations.

Being offered through its Specialty Human Services Division, the coverage has been designed to save these organizations from court cases they may face for the professional services they provide.

CPCU, Divisional President Michael Liguzinski said that Great American’s enhanced professional liability coverage provides human and social service organizations the unique insurance protection they need in the event of an alleged issue in rendering these services.

"Professionals are at the heart of the services that these organizations provide. One of the key features of our policy is the broad definition of ‘professional services.’

"Rather than limiting the policy to apply only to those with degrees or certifications, our policy considers a professional someone that has specialized education, knowledge, labor, judgment and skill that is predominately mental or intellectual," Liguzinski added.

The policy features comprised, limits of up to $1m for each act, error or omission; $3m in aggregate and $15m umbrella limits, while claim and legal expense are covered outside the professional limit of liability.

The policy also offers professional coverage for any act, error or omission regarding the rendering or failure to render a professional service.
