Great American Insurance Group has named John Tholen as vice president of reinsurance business to lead reinsurance function for Great American’s Property & Casualty operations.
Additionally, he will be responsible for purchasing corporate catastrophe covers, reinsurance security, portfolio level catastrophe modeling and all accounting requirements under the Company’s reinsurance agreements, said the insurer.
Prior to accepting the current role at Great American, Tholen was the director of reinsurance placement for Markel Corporation and vice president of Financial Analysis and Structured Risk Underwriting at Munich Reinsurance America.
Great American Insurance primarily engages in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialty commercial products for businesses, and in the sale of traditional fixed and indexed annuities and various supplemental insurance products.
