Generali Versicherungen, a multi-line insurer, has reported that its gross new business in the property/casualty lines of business for the year 2007 rose by 1.4% to E212.8 million in terms of annual premiums.
The net new business for the year increased 8.9% to E44 million from E40.4 million in 2006. The gross premium income grew by 3.2% to E965.1 million.
Wilhelm Kittel, CEO of Generali Versicherungen, said: In 2007, like the year before, Generali Versicherungen again had the best year in its history. A growth of premium income above the market level, excellent new business and a noticeable rise of the net profit illustrate that Generali is continuing its successful course.
