The programme is written on a primary basis and targeted at small to mid-size firms with receipts up to $10 million

General Star Management Company, a US-based surplus lines insurer, has launched its new architects and engineers liability programme which will be available in all states. The programme will be offered through PCM Services, the sole programme administrator for this new national facility.

According to General Star, a new policy form has been developed for this programme. It provides competitive coverage for traditional architects and engineers (A&E) exposures, as well as a number of automatic enhancements that address modern business risks faced by professionals, such as privacy and information security.

The programme is written on a primary basis and targeted at small to mid-size firms with receipts up to $10 million. Worldwide coverage is included, with limits of up to $5 million available. Coverage will be written by General Star Indemnity Company or General Star National Insurance Company. Coverage will be written on a non-admitted basis in all states.

Scott Ginsberg, global A&E product leader for General Star, said: Technology is rapidly changing the way in which architects and engineers do business, requiring innovative liability insurance solutions for the risks that accompany these changes. We are excited about our ability to respond to this opportunity and deliver coverage previously confined to technology firms.
