Auto insurer Government Employees Insurance (GEICO), part of Berkshire Hathaway group of companies, has named Ryan West as vice president of claims at the company’s corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
West will succeed Rick Hoagland, who was recently named as vice president at GEICO’s regional office in Buffalo, New York.
He joined the company in 1992 as a claims service representative at regional office in Macon and then moved to Lakeland to serve as the company’s liability director.
Later, he was named as assistant vice president of claims for the company’s regional office in 2006.
GEICO senior vice president Seth Ingall said that Ryan’s experience will serve him and the company well as he takes on the new role.
The company also offers insurance quotes on motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, travel trailers and motorhomes.
