Friends Provident, the UK-based life and pensions company, has upgraded its web investment portfolio planning tool, the dynamic portfolio planner (DPP), after consulting with IFAs on how it could better reflect their needs.

The upgraded tool now offers an even greater range of services to help IFAs plan their clients’ portfolio more effectively, Friends Provident said in a press statement. The DPP enables accurate client risk profiling, guidance on efficient asset diversification as well as fund portfolio construction.

The enhancements include: a new improved format of investment arrangements and reports, making it possible to add an arrangement by the type of ‘wrapper’ and the funds belonging to each wrapper.

Improved fund selection features, new fund performance quartile rankings and risk analysis, OBSR fund ratings as well as Citywire fund ratings and fund manager fact sheets. There is a separate tabular format based on the underlying fund sectors for IFAs to see the range of fund charges at a glance, the firm says.

The enhancements we have made to the DPP show that Friends Provident is committed to providing tools that reflect advisers’ needs. We are proud to offer IFAs a consistently innovative tool that provides a detailed and objective investment plan, tailored to meet their clients’ goals, says Jim Henning, investment marketing manager at Friends Provident.
